Google Nexus 7 review: Hands-on

Posted on: June 27, 2012

The Google Nexus 7 tablet lands with the specs that can take on the iPad and a price that should worry the Amazon Kindle Fire.

Announced at the Google I/O conference in San Francisco, the Google Nexus 7 is the internet giant’s first foray into the tablet fray. Loaded with Android Jellybean, quadcore CPU, an HD 7-inch screen and 9-hours battery life, it’s got the specs but it’s the price that has us excited.

Available to pre-order today from Google Play, for the Nexus 7 8GB you’ll be paying £159. That’s just over £30 more than the Kindle Fire. The 16GB version will be available from July 27th and that comes with a reasonable price tag of £199.

We’ll be bringing you our full hands-on impressions tomorrow but in the meantime take a look at our hands-on pics of the Nexus 7 in our gallery above
